Online Somatic Healing Across the UK

A Space to Reconnect with Yourself, Wherever You Are

Finding a therapist who understands something of your lived experience, cultural identity and the world you inhabit isn't always easy. And when you're looking for a body-centred approach that goes beyond talking alone, the choices can feel even more limited.

For People of Colour living across the UK, access to culturally attuned therapy may be shaped by where you live, the availability of practitioners, or simply finding someone with whom you feel a sense of connection and understanding.

At Unbound, I offer online somatic therapy for African, Caribbean, Asian and other People of Colour throughout the UK — creating space to explore your experiences, reconnect with your body and discover new possibilities for how you relate to yourself and the world.

You don't have to live in a particular city or travel to a therapy room to begin this journey.

When Life Asks More of You Than You Can Give

Perhaps you're carrying the weight of responsibilities, expectations or experiences that have left you feeling exhausted, anxious or disconnected from yourself.

You may have become accustomed to putting others first, holding everything together, or pushing through difficulties without acknowledging the toll they take.

For some, these patterns are closely connected to family and cultural expectations, experiences of racism or discrimination, migration, or the legacies of intergenerational trauma.

For others, there may simply be a sense that something is missing — a longing for greater ease, creativity, self-expression or a more authentic relationship with yourself.

Whatever brings you here, your experience deserves to be met with curiosity, compassion and respect.

A Different Way of Listening

Our bodies are part of how we experience and respond to the world. They can hold patterns of tension, protection and adaptation that we may not always recognise through words alone.

Somatic therapy invites us to become curious about these experiences, paying attention to what is happening in the present moment rather than relying solely on the stories we tell about our lives.

My approach is relational, gentle and exploratory. Alongside conversation, we may work with body awareness, breath, movement, imagery and creative expression, always respecting your boundaries and pace.

There is no prescribed way to engage in this work, and no expectation that you should feel or experience anything in particular.

Together, we explore what may support greater choice, connection, freedom and aliveness.

Can Somatic Therapy Work Online?

Yes. While we may not be sharing the same physical space, online sessions can still offer meaningful opportunities for embodied awareness, emotional exploration and therapeutic connection.

We can notice sensations, breathing patterns, movement, posture and emotional responses, as well as explore the relationships between thoughts, feelings and bodily experience.

Some people appreciate being able to engage in this work from the familiarity of their own surroundings. Others value the flexibility of not having to travel, particularly when managing work, family responsibilities or other commitments.

You don't need special equipment or a dedicated therapy room. What matters is having a reasonably private, comfortable space where you feel able to engage without interruption.

Therapy That Welcomes Your Whole Experience

Our identities and histories shape how we experience ourselves, our relationships and the wider world.

For People of Colour, personal difficulties may intersect with cultural expectations, experiences of marginalisation, questions of belonging and the wider impact of historical and collective trauma.

My work recognises these dimensions without assuming that they define your experience.

You are welcome to explore whatever feels important to you, whether that concerns stress, anxiety, grief, relationships, identity, trauma, creative blocks or a desire for greater freedom and self-expression.

Therapy can be a place to explore what has been painful, but also to reconnect with what brings pleasure, meaning, creativity and vitality into your life.

Working Together Online

I offer individual online somatic therapy sessions throughout the UK.

Sessions are available for 60 or 90 minutes, depending on your needs and the nature of the work.

My practice draws upon body psychotherapy, relational and developmental approaches, and expressive arts, with sensitivity to the ways personal, cultural and intergenerational experiences may shape our lives.

If you'd like to learn more about my approach, you can explore the Somatic Healing page under My Approach.
