Somatic Healing

Self-discovery and Inner Wisdom

“Once we open up to the flow of energy within out body, we can also open up to the flow of energy in the universe. ”
— Wilhelm Reich

Soma is the Greek word for body.

Somatic work focuses on the interconnection between mind and body. It brings mind and body into the healing process to help you unravel restrictive psychological, physiological, and neurological tensions, freeing you to become more fully alive and more authentically expressive.

My work draws on a range of somatic therapeutic approaches that support deep self-discovery, healing, and reconnection with your inner wisdom.

You don’t need to understand these approaches in detail. What matters is how the work feels and what it makes possible for you.

For people of colour navigating the particular burdens of racial stress and intergenerational trauma, these somatic and relational approaches offer a profoundly supportive space of warmth, trust, and clear boundaries, where you can listen deeply to the voice within, tell the story of your life, and discover new ways to live.

NARM® Therapy

I am currently in advanced training in The NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM®), a progressive, neuroscience-informed somatic therapy developed to address and heal the lasting effects of complex and developmental trauma.

NARM focuses on the patterns of disconnection that form early in life and continue to shape how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world.

Unlike traditional psychotherapy, which often focuses on analysing the past, NARM® emphasises personal strength, resilience, and your innate capacity to live more fully and connect more authentically with life. It helps you get clear on what you most want, and on the unconscious patterns, behaviours, and ways of thinking that stand in the way.

Drawing from psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory, gestalt therapy, and somatic approaches, NARM® focuses on patterns of disconnection formed early in life that suppress your sense of aliveness. Rather than treating symptoms as problems to be eliminated, it recognises them as intelligent adaptations to early relational wounds, responses that once kept you safe, but may no longer be serving you.

For people of colour, these patterns are often shaped not only by personal history but by the accumulated weight of cultural expectations, intergenerational responsibilities, racial trauma, migration, cultural displacement, and the experience of having to adapt, shrink, or perform to belong. NARM® creates space to gently unwind these layers, supporting your body, psyche, and nervous system's natural capacity for healing and integration, helping you move toward the connection, aliveness, and creativity that are your birthright.

Rather than focusing on what is “wrong,” it supports your capacity for connection, resilience, aliveness, and authentic self-expression.

Body Psychotherapy

Body psychotherapy is based on the understanding that mind and body are deeply interconnected.

We experience life through sensation, movement, breath, and feeling — and our past experiences are often held within these bodily patterns.

This work supports you to become more aware of:

- tension and holding patterns

- emotional and sensory experience

- the body’s intuitive responses

Through this awareness, deeper shifts can begin to take place.

Core Modalities I Draw From

My work integrates three primary body-based approaches:

Postural Integration

A 10-step process that works with the body’s muscular and connective tissue to release long-held tension and support realignment.

This creates space for the breath to flow freely, the body to move easefully, and for emotional awareness, expression, and integration.

The result is a body that is softer, freer in movement, more open and expressive — with more breath, more energy, and a greater sense of being at home in yourself.

Deep Bodywork

A somatic process that uses touch, breath, movement, and dialogue to access and release deeply held emotional patterns.

This work supports a deeper connection with your body and the parts of yourself that may not yet have been expressed.

As you become more aware of these and give them voice, unconscious blocks and stuck energy begin to release, freeing your body-mind and bringing greater wellbeing and wholeness.

Embodied Relational Therapy

A relational and experiential approach that explores how you connect with yourself and others.

It supports deeper awareness of patterns in relationship and creates space for more authentic, open, and integrated ways of being.

It allows for spontaneity, playfulness, and greater self-acceptance, helping you become more fully integrated, in right relationship with yourself and with others.

An Invitation

If you feel drawn to a way of healing that goes beyond words, somatic work offers an invitation to reconnect with your body, listen within, and come into deeper relationship with yourself.
