Do you feel successful on the outside but disconnected within?
Are you carrying stress, trauma, or patterns that keep you stuck?
Do you know something needs to change but can't move forward?
You don’t have to hold this on your own.
“Our wounds are often the opening to the best and most beautiful part of us.”
Welcome to Unbound.
This is a private, body-centred space for African, Caribbean, Asian, and other People of Colour who have built something real on the outside and are ready to come home to themselves on the inside.
Perhaps you are a high-achiever carrying the weight of chronic stress, burnout, or trauma beneath a life that looks successful. Or you may be navigating a major life transition, when old roles, identities, or ways of being no longer fit, and something deeper is asking to be heard.
Perhaps you live between cultures, identities, and different versions of yourself, and long for somewhere that can hold all of who you are and all of who you are becoming.
You are not looking for coping strategies. You are looking for genuine healing and a deeper connection to yourself.
This work is trauma-informed and body-oriented. It is deep work that goes beneath the surface — into the body, into the roots — to support lasting transformation.
Whatever brings you here, you don't have to explain yourself, translate your experience, or leave any part of who you are behind.
You are received exactly as you are.
As a Black therapist, I meet you with care, compassion, cultural understanding, and the depth of my own lived experience.
This is a space to set down what you have been carrying, and remember who you are beneath it.
This is a journey to come home to yourself and become more authentically you.
You Are OK as You Are
Stress, anxiety, depression, feeling stuck, and a lack of fulfilment are often symptoms of trauma, grief, and loss that leave you feeling blocked, depleted, and disconnected from yourself.
There is nothing wrong with you. These are authentic responses to the challenges you have faced and the difficulties you have lived through.
When Life Gets In The Way of Who You Are
Many people of colour grow up needing to adapt, endure, and stay strong in a world that doesn't fully embrace them. Having to continually advocate for yourself, strive for acceptance, and perform in spaces that overlook or diminish you takes an enormous toll, one that is rarely acknowledged and rarely seen.
You may experience:
- Burnout, overwork, and a loss of vitality
- Anxiety, depression, or emotional numbness
- Feeling shut down, blocked, or unable to move forward
- Repeating patterns that undermine your confidence and self-worth
- Physical symptoms such as headaches, back pain, migraines, or muscular tension
You may want support, but find few spaces that truly understand your lived experience. You may worry about being judged, misunderstood, or treated condescendingly if you speak openly about yourself and what you are dealing with.
At Unbound, none of that is required. You can show up fully as yourself, with all that you are carrying, and will be received with understanding and deep respect for the complexity of your experience.
“Paula created a loving, nurturing space which felt safe and timeless. She had clear boundaries and was very present to me. It felt like she was on the journey with me, holding my hand, supporting me, and nothing was off-limits.”
A Body-Based Creative Approach To Healing
I offer a creative and empowering therapeutic space grounded in somatic — body-based — approaches, supporting emotional expression, personal growth, and deep healing.
This includes:
- Trauma-informed somatic approaches
- Breath, movement, and body awareness,
- Contemporary neuroscience
- Expressive arts processes
- Voice dialogue and relational exploration
- Inner attunement
The work is intuitive, sensory, and relational. It is calming, grounding, energising, playful, and deeply moving, supporting you in releasing emotional blockages, healing the past, and returning to authentic contact with yourself, your natural aliveness, and your innate creativity.
“And the day came when the risk it took to remain closed in a bud became more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
Daring to Step Forward
People often come to therapy when life has become so challenging that the pain of staying the same feels greater than any fear of change. When you dare to step beyond what has held you back and are willing to tell the truth about what is really going on for you, life can open up, and healing becomes possible.
You Are Whole, Just As You Are
I see you as whole and complete, exactly as you are.
This work is not about fixing you. It is about understanding what has been in the way of you being fully yourself, and gently, courageously, moving it aside so you can step beyond it
I support you to:
Face difficult issues with honesty and compassion
Develop the strength to meet life's challenges
Move through self-limiting patterns
Reconnect with the creative, expressive, joyful self at your core
Restore trust in yourself
Being received with warmth, care, and understanding in a safe and confidential space allows your body to soften and healing to become possible. Life begins to open up as you become more whole, free, alive, and more connected.
Moving Forward, More Fully Yourself
Committing to your growth is an invitation to reconnect with the deeper, more authentic parts of you — the parts that are creative and expressive, that hold wisdom and insight, and that have been waiting, patiently, to be reclaimed.
As you let go of what has constrained you, your life expands.
You may find yourself moving forward with greater confidence, self-love, self-acceptance, and self-trust, creating a life that feels meaningful, fulfilling, more spacious, and more fully your own.
